Becoming a Teacher

Looking for a way to get your teaching license in Arkansas? The APPEL program offers a way to accomplish your goal of being a licensed educator. APPEL is a two-year track where you work as a teacher of record under a Provisional License while completing the program to obtain the final, Arkansas Standard Teaching License. Attend this session to find out what’s required, how to apply, and have your questions answered regarding all things APPEL!

UACCM is happy to help students learn how to apply for financial aid whether or not they plan to attend our college. Please join us to hear the different forms of financial aid available to students entering college as well as tips on how to apply for varying types of aid.

Do you have a Bachelor's degree and want to make an impact in the classroom? Henderson State University's Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) can help you earn your Arkansas standard teaching license while earning a Master's degree and increasing your earning potential as a teacher.


Praxis Support

Do you need help passing one of your tests for certification? We have help! Whether you need to pass a Praxis test or the Foundations of Reading, we offer a variety of supports to meet your needs, including free subscriptions to Tutor 240, virtual or in-person tutoring by a content expert, or help with Test Anxiety. Join this session to learn more about how we can help you become fully certified!

The Master of Arts in Teaching program at UCA offers a flexible and rigorous program for individuals holding a Bachelor's degree and who are looking to move into a career as a licensed educator. We offer K-6, Middle Level, and Secondary track options, all of which are only 36 hours! This program is designed for you to obtain your Provisional License, while in the program, allowing you to work as the teacher of record in your own classroom!
