Archer City High School invites you to participate in our annual Invitational A Meet. We will use UIL Invitational A meet test materials for all contests, except Spelling. Spelling will use third-party materials.
Ultimately our goal in hosting this meet is to provide high quality competition while keeping costs as low as possible.
Final entry deadline for the meet is 4 p.m. on Wed., Jan. 7.
A flat fee of $150 for unlimited entries in Accounting, Calculator, Math, Number Sense, Computer Applications, Computer Science, Current Issues & Events, Literary Criticism, Science, Social Studies, and Spelling & Vocabulary.
We will accept up to 40 entries in all of the events listed in this group. Entries are limited due to space/seating available.
For each graded event entered, a school must provide at least one grader.
Please be reminded you must provide a grader if you have any entries in Computer Applications.
You can make additions, substitutions, drops to any of the events in this category up to the day of the meet.
$200 per school for all speaking (Poetry, Prose, Informative, Persuasive, LD) and writing events (Ready Writing, Editorials, Features, Headlines, News, Copy Editing).
We will accept up to 25 entries in all of the events listed in this group.
You must provide 1 speech judge per 6 speech entries. If you cannot provide a judge, a judging fee of $100 per 6 entries will be charged. (For example if you enter 6 kids or fewer, you provide 1 judge or pay $100. If you enter 7-12 speech entries, you will either a) provide 2 judges, b) provide 1 judge and pay 1 judge fee of $100, or c) pay $200 to cover 2 judge fees.
All writing events will be scored by a hired judge for the contests.
You will forfeit your entry fees if drops are made in the events in this category after Wed., Jan. 8.
A hospitality room with breakfast and lunch food will be available for all teachers and judges.
A concession stand with breakfast and lunch food will be available.
Ribbons will be given to all individuals who place 1st-6th. We will calculate points to determine an overall winner for the meet.
