Campus Security & Visitors
Aquilla ISD follows strict and uniformed access procedures. All visitors are required to visit the Welcome Center immediately upon arriving at the school. ALL ADULT VISITORS will be required to present a valid form of photo identification (State issued driver’s license, state issued identification card, passport, military identification card, etc.) to our staff each and every time they visit a campus. Staff will review the identification to ensure that visitation is authorized. This may include use of the Raptor Visitor Management system to ensure proper student contact, as well as scanning of state or county databases to ensure campus access is permitted. Following approval, visitors will be issued a visitor pass that is required to be displayed on the outer clothing and clearly visible to staff while on campus. For example, if you visited the campus in the morning and returned in the afternoon you will be required to reprocess your visit with the front office. All visitors are required to adhere to all campus rules while visiting. Failure may result in a visitor being asked to leave the campus.
CAMPUS VISITORS
Types of Events:
May include, but not limited to: first day of school, Meet the Teacher Night, lunch visits, class parties, assemblies.
Raptor Protocols:
Visitors need to have a valid government issued ID* scanned through the Raptor system for basic security clearance in order to enter a school.
If the Raptor system shows an alert on a visitor, a school administrator or Campus Police will be notified immediately.
Visitors should receive and wear the Raptor badge that was given to them upon entry for the duration of the visit.
Badges are one time use only and should not be distributed prior to the time of the visit.
Visitors can have a valid government issued ID* scanned at a date prior to the date of their visit, but the badge will not be given to the visitor until the day of the campus visit.
For future visits, the visitor can inform the receptionist about the upcoming visit and the Raptor badge can be printed ahead of time to expedite the process of checking in. However, badges shall not be given in advance of the visit and visitors must still show a valid ID in order to obtain the pre-printed badge on the day of the event.
Minors should remain with their adult visitors while on the school campus.
School personnel will collect badges when visitors exit the school.
*Government issued IDs include all state licenses, state identification cards, concealed handgun licenses, consular ID cards, green cards, active military cards, and passport cards.
On-Campus Chaperones or Field Trip Chaperones Background Check Requirements
Includes those attending an off-campus event with a class or those managing an event/club such as field day on campus.
Types of Events:
May include but not limited to: field trips, off campus events, field day, assisting with extra-curricular events.
Background Check / Raptor Protocols:
These must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the event.
These must be completed every year. Valid August 1-June 15.
These visitors must still bring their driver’s license to badge in with Raptor upon entering campus and must wear the ID badge until exiting the facility.
School personnel will collect Raptor badges when visitors exit the school.

Tips for visiting a campus
Below are tips to ensure the most out of visiting one of our campuses:
Have a valid form of identification.
Check into the front office every time you visit.
Wear your Visitor ID tag at all times while on campus.
Report any suspicious activity.
Report anyone you see walking around campus without an MISD badge or visitor badge to the front office.
Follow the campus emergency procedures and staff directions.
Talk to your children about personal safety and security.
For the safety of all students:
Staff will not be able to allow you access to the campus without presenting valid ID at the front office each and every time you visit.
Do not allow anyone to piggy back into secured areas of our schools. It is not discourteous to refuse to violate security practices.
Do not ask students or staff to let you into secured areas of our school.
Do not prop open doors behind you.
Always report a safety and security concern; do not assume someone else will report it.
