Kristen is a licensed marriage and family therapist and a registered play therapist. Kristen is full-time faculty for APU's Counseling Psychology Masters program.
Assistant Camp Director
Carissa is a Certified Child Life Specialist who has been practicing for almost 20 years. Carissa’s areas of specialization include pediatric trauma, grief and loss, emergency medicine, and pediatric palliative care. Carissa is currently an assistant professor and clinical supervisor in the Masters of Child Life program at Azusa Pacific University.
Our MS in Counseling Psychology students are prepared to work with the general population, as well as specializing in the needs of children and youth. Upon graduation our students will be eligible to pursue LPCC licensure in California. Licensed counselors can be found in a variety of settings (schools, clinics, in-patient and out-patient settings, private practice, etc.)
Child life specialists are allied health care professionals who support children and their families facing challenging experiences, particularly traumatic medical situations. Upon graduation our Child Life students are eligible to take the national certification exam and are ready to enter into various settings providing support and education for children and their families.
