Will Alpha Leaders receive service credits for the Fall semester? 

Alpha Leaders that participate in Vision LA, a one-week service experience in the city of LA during August Alpha Leader training, will receive 30 service credits.

What are the responsibilities of an Alpha Leader?

Alpha Leaders are a critical component of Welcome Weekend as they help to welcome new students to APU.  Alpha Leaders meet weekly with a group of new students to build relationships, offer support, and be a resource to them throughout the semester. Alpha Leaders help new students experience belonging on campus!

I am more on the introverted side, can I still be a good Alpha Leader? 

The Alpha Leader position is not a one size fit all. You have your own unique strengths that will make you an amazing Alpha Leader! You do not have to be extroverted or loud to be a good leader -- just be you!

Can Alpha Leaders Serve Remotely?

Alpha Leaders will be expected to be on campus for Alpha Leader August training. Alpha Leaders are also expected to serve in-person for Welcome Weekend. The modality for any successive Alpha Group Meetings (in-person, hybrid, virtual) will be determined by the Alpha Leader and their group.

Will we be trained on how to be an Alpha Leader?

Yes! All Alpha Leaders will receive a 2- week training leading up to Welcome Weekend. Each Alpha Leader will be placed in an Alpha Coordinator (AC) group, alongside other Alpha Leaders for ongoing support!
