The Association of Piedmont Teachers is our local chapter of the California Teachers’ Association (CTA) and the National Education Association (NEA). APT members are the teachers, librarians, counselors, nurses, specialists and psychologists who work directly with the students of PUSD. Our union shares the mission of CTA “to improve the conditions of teaching and learning; to advance the cause of free, universal, and quality public education for all students; to ensure that the human dignity and civil rights of all children, youth and adults are protected; and to secure a more just, equitable, and democratic society.” We work to ensure smaller class sizes, meaningful curricula and instructional practices, and classroom safety, as well as to establish a true living wage and affordable health care for our members, so that PUSD can attract and retain excellent teachers and staff for our schools. We do what we do because Piedmont students deserve the best education, and the best educators, in the world!
On Friday, May 31st, 2024 APT passed a three year contract freezing salary negotiations for the 23/24, 24/25, and 25/26 school years unless there are specific extenuating circumstances. Both the district and APT can elect to open negotiations outside of salary. Contract negotiations for the 25/26 school year are currently underway.
You can visit the APT negotiations page on this website for further details.
