Hi! I am Carolyn Herstich and I am so excited to be the Principal at Miller South.
I am a graduate from The University of Akron with degrees in Special Education and Educational Administration. I have a passion for helping students find success in school while embracing the Arts through Education. I was an Art student in High School as well as a member of Concert Band and Marching Band. I am a sister (twin with 2 older twin sisters) and a wife (Husband- Matt) and mother of two (Owen-1st grade, Evelyn-K). I am an administrator who cares about you and your family and want you to know I am here for you if you need anything. We are all in this together and WE ARE STARS!!!

Hello! I am Rick Sims, the newly appointed Assistant Principal at Miller South.

I am a graduate of the University of Akron with a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences and a graduate of Walsh University with a Master's degree in Education. I also completed a program for Educational Leadership at Cleveland State University. I taught high school science for many years, also coaching football and serving as the building athletic director. During my teaching years, I developed a passion for school improvement, helping both students and staff to reach their greatest potential. I have a wife and three children (Hannah-26, Emily 25, and Tim-21). My wife, Christine, also works in the Akron Public Schools' Department of School Improvement. I have been an administrator for the past 7 years at both the Elementary and Middle School levels. During this time, developing relationships with my students and their families and building strong partnerships has been my top priority. Please do not hesitate to contact me about anything. Together we will assure the success of our Miller South Stars! I am so excited to be a part of the Miller South family and have the opportunity to help develop the artistic and academic talents of our students.
