Akron School for the Arts students take a rigorous curriculum of classes in music theory/history, at least one choral ensemble and weekly private lessons with a professional private instructor. In addition, students perform their work for the OMEA solo and ensemble adjudicated event.
Vocal Pathway students are enrolled in a choral ensemble for the entirety of their high school experience while taking classes in music theory/history and career preparation.
Students in the program experience a high quality vocal/choral music experience, including advanced repertoire, clinician/guest experiences, concert field trips, community performance opportunities, and one of the most diverse and inclusive choral music experiences in the area.
Graduates of the Vocal/Choral area include highly successful graduates within and outside of the arts.
We look forward to welcoming you to one of the most beneficial experiences of high school, full of personal growth, great music/artistry, timeless friendships, rigor/challenge, and acceptance/community.
