Theatre Requirements

Thank you for your interest in becoming part of the most diverse, comprehensive, 

and acclaimed high school theatre program in the area!

Theatre Audition Requirements

One (1) memorized, recorded (self-tape) monologue from any published play.

This monologue can be from any play published after 1930. It should be memorized and include a slate. 

Your self-tape should be between 1- and 2-minutes in length. The sweet spot in terms of length is about 1:15.

It is highly encouraged that you view one or both of the tutorial videos below or others of your choice before recording your self tape.

It is also highly encouraged that you you use a free app such as shoot.me to record your self-tape. There are many other online apps to choose from or you can use your own phone and any editing software available to you.

Be sure to label the self-tape with the name of the applicant. 

Be sure your self-tape has both audio and video.

The self-tape must be less than 10gb in size to submit it here.

Students without access to a monologue may select one from the Monologue Library. Please be careful that your selection is age appropriate.

One (1) teacher recommendation submitted via google form.

Live Interview and Improv Game

In the live interview, students will be asked to play one (1) improvisation game called "Who/What/Where."

The interview will include questions about their past experiences and plans for the future as well is their interest and experience in technical theatre.  Students with a primary interest in technical theatre are required to audition with a prepared monologue but may also bring evidence of their work as a designer and/or technician.
