APS Race2Read 2.0 is here! Race2Read is a 10 Million Minute Challenge that encourages students, teachers, parents and community partners to read daily.
The systemwide goal is to collectively reach 10 million minutes of reading by the end of the school year. Each reader is eligible to earn badges of recognition. Readers will track minutes through Beanstack, available via mobile app and websites customized for each school. Students can link to Beanstack through myBackpack.
Our Sarah Smith goal this year is 791,000 minutes. Let's aim for the top spot this year!

myON is an extensive collection of e-books students can access through MyBackPack. When a student first logs on to myON, they take an interest inventory and placement test. The program then sets the reading level and recommends books to the student according to their reading interests and reading level.
myON has many Spanish titles also. Many of the myON books are Accelerated Reading (AR) books. Students may take AR quizzes directly from myON.
Thanks to a partnership with the Fulton County Library System, all students and employees of Atlanta Public Schools are patrons of the public library! Please see information below for details.
