Interested in taking free college courses while you attend SAHS?
If so, please see your counselor for the following programs:
Dual Enrollment
Advanced Placement
Accelerated Career Program
The Dual Enrollment (DE) Program provides for participation in Dual Credit Enrollment for eligible High schools.
These students earn postsecondary credit hours while simultaneously meeting their high school graduation requirements.
In other words, students take specific high school and college courses concurrently.
College courses can be transferred to a two- or four-year institution of higher learning.
Use the GA TRACS College Transfer tool to find out which courses transfer to the college of your dreams: Georgia College Transfer Tool
AP stands for Advanced Placement. AP courses are challenging, with content that better prepares students for the rigors of college. Every AP class has an end-of-course AP test; if a student passes the exam with a score acceptable to the college, they may not have to take that course in college they attend.
Use this tool to find colleges that offer credit or placement for AP scores.
Students choose to earn a high school diploma and simultaneously either a:
College Associate Degree
Technical Diploma
Two (2) Technical Certificates of Credit (TCC’s) in a specific career pathway.
Some required high school courses may be taken under the state-funded Dual Enrollment program.
