"We are what we repeatedly do.

Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit."

— Aristotle, as paraphrased by philosopher Will Durant

“Success is a lousy teacher.

It seduces smart people into thinking they can’t lose.”

— Bill Gates

Hello and welcome to Mr. Nichols' classroom. This site is for my students at Midtown High School in Atlanta, Georgia. I've been a mathematics teacher at Grady for 17 years. Before teaching I was a graduate student and teaching assistant at Emory University where I earned my Master's degree in Mathematics. Currently I teach AP Calculus AB/BC, College Success, Gifted Mentorship/Internship, and serve as the Gifted Education Lead Teacher. For more information about Midtown High School, click here.

I am looking forward to this school year and the mathematics your child and I will be exploring together.

AP Calculus AB and BC both have a summer assignment due on the first day of class in August. You will find your assignment here.
