Rental Assistance for Atlanta Metro Area and Beyond
You must apply through the phone number below, and you must have had some sort of hardship since March 2020, does not need to be directly COVID related. Things like Job losses, hours lost, medical bills, etc. qualify.
You can get up to 18 months in assistance total, this includes any previous rental assistance you may have received in the past from government funds. You must have a past due amount notice or be in the eviction process.
There is no dollar limit, it is only limited by the 18 month time frame. You can have unlimited past arrears and up to 3 months ahead in assistance. If you need more than 3 months ahead, you need to reapply every 3 months, to go up to 18 months total.
Social Workers can not make referrals for this, you must call the numbers for your area below, and tell them you need the Georgia Rental Assistance–Eviction Prevention Initiative.
It may take several calls to get through, I imagine it will be a busy program.
