About Mr. Dastous

I am a native of Lowell, Massachusetts, a Georgia resident since 2002 and have been an educator for 29 years. Prior to that, I was in leadership roles for 3 major corporations in the United States. I have taught middle school Social Studies, middle school computer applications, and high school CADD and GIS and for 15 years I was a middle and high school assistant principal, principal, and a career academy CEO. It was my desire to teach students directly that  led me back into the classroom.

I earned a BS in Business from Western International University, an M.Ed. in Instructional Technology and Design from American Intercontinental University Online, completed my school leadership coursework at Mercer University's McDonough Campus and my Ed.S. in Instructional Technology and Distance Education from Nova Southeastern University.

I am a USA Hockey Master Coach, having earned my Level 5 in 2021. I am also the Head Coach of the Atlanta Center Ice 16U A, a team within the Southern Youth Travel Hockey League (SYTHL).

Lisa and I have been married since April 9, 1999; we met "Under the Stars" at National Geographic Society. Our son, Benoît, graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Political Science and minor in Philosophy in December 2021. He is now the owner of Holistic Footy a soccer training company and the Director of First Team Operations for Piedmont Soccer Academy's UPSL Program.
