I am 37 years old and I grew up in a large, loving family. I have 4 brothers and 1 chosen sister that joined our family when she was a young teenager. I attended school at Lawtell Elementary and graduated from Northwest High in 2006. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Benjamin since in 2012. We have been together for over 20 years. Together we have two beautiful daughters, Lyla and Eva. We live in the outskirts of Church Point and we love living in the country.
I graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2017 with my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education with an add-on certification in Elementary Education. This is my eighth year of teaching. I spent the first 7 years teaching at Cankton Elementary. I taught one year in second grade, then moved up to third grade. I absolutely love third grade because I get to explore students' personality, deep conversations and discussions, independence, and rigor that third grade entails.
Teaching is not just a job to me, it is a passion of mine. I take each group of students that are assigned to me each year as a blessing. I enjoy pouring knowledge into the lives of our future generations and seeing their growth year after year. The most incredible feeling as a teacher is watching my students fall in love with learning while having fun.
I want you to know that I try with my best efforts to make each student feel safe, loved, valued, and heard. My greatest hope is that every student of mine loves school and that my teaching creates a spark that ignites a love of school for not only our year together, but also in the years to come. I want to instill a love for learning while having fun.
I know that a successful school year doesn't happen without proper collaboration and communication. Working together is essential. Therefore, I thank you in advance parent(s) and guardian(s) for all the support you will provide to make this school year a success. If you need me, I am only an e-mail, Remind message, or phone call away. I look forward to a successful 2025-2026 school year.
