Data is Beautiful  - Watch a video of some interesting displays of data over the years. 

While you are watching, respond to the following questions:

• What was something that surprised you while the data unfolded?

• What was something you were curious about? (For example, I noticed in the video about the size of the largest armies, France's army significantly decreased in 1940, which was surprising since it was in the middle of WWII. So I looked up what the cause of this was.) Tell me something you looked up as a result of what you saw!

• Apply one of our current topics to the data that you saw. For example: China's army is what percent of it's total population? How does that percent compare to the US army's percent of the total population? What's the ratio of one country's army size to another's? Can you think of a unit rate that you could calculate?
