Mrs. Lynch's Art Class
Ventana Ranch Elementary School
Mrs. Lynch
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!
My teaching philosophy is about learning while having fun through play and discovery. Art classes are not just about teaching students art, but also about helping them become responsible young adults and confident and caring citizens. I will acquaint your children with various well-known artists, as well as contemporary artists from a culturally sensitive perspective. I will also be integrating literacy, math, history and science into my art lessons as much as possible. Each art lesson will focus on one or more of the basic art elements, which are: line, shape, form, color, value, texture, and space. I have planned projects incorporating painting, drawing, collage, weaving, printmaking, jewelry, sculpture, and ceramics, keeping in mind each grade’s developmental needs.
I teach according to the National Core Arts Standards. The four areas we focus on are creating, presenting, responding, and connecting. You can find more information by going to the site listed below. Please, let me know if you ever have any questions about art class, or would like additional ways to support your student.

I'm so excited to be your child's art teacher this year!
Just a few things...
While I am using tempera paint and watercolors that are labeled washable, some do stain clothes. Please remember your child's art day and don't dress them in anything new or expensive.
If a student is talked to about a behavior in art class three or more times, you will get an "Oops" note sent home. I will write what the behavior was. If you have any questions, you can always email or call me at the email address or number listed above. Please sign the note and return it the next day. Your child may also get a "Positive Praise" note for exceptional behavior.
Thank you for your involvement and support in your child's education!
