Feel free to contact Ms. Shelton with any questions you have! Her email is: shelton_s@aps.edu
If you would rather talk on the phone, send me an email so we can set up a time to talk.
Concert info is in the Calendar below the Handbook.
Pretend for a minute we are in a real building. You need your schedule of classes: use StudentVue for that. Now you have to get to the Classroom (Find the room. Stand out in the hallway), and then get into the Classroom (Yes it's an extra step. It's like having a secret knock or a key to get in to your house). Once in the Classroom, you can look around the room, check out the homework, turn in homework, etc.
Read this bit only if we have to go to online learning: Pretend for a minute there is a fort in the middle of the room. (Don't ask why, just go with my analogy.) In that fort there is a Meeting going on. (This is the Google Meet everyone is talking about). To hear the teacher and other students talk you need to get in to the Meet/Fort. Meets will have either a link to get in or another code. Here are the steps:
1. Get your schedule from StudentVue.
2. To get to the classroom: Go to: https://classroom.google.com
You will have to sign in with your APS ID number (long number, starts with 97 or 98) and your password.
Forgot password? Send your Advisory teacher an email through StudentVue/ParentVue or however it is your Advisory teacher would like you to contact them.
3. To get into each specific classroom (but only the first time): You have to "join" the class. Upper right hand corner there is a +. Click it and enter the class code (aka: secret knock). Once you have entered the Classroom code the first time, that class will always be open to you.
List of programs we will be using this year: (Don't worry, I'll give you lots of info on how to set it up and work them.)

Education and the ARTS!
The arts, like SCIENCE, are about discovery and invention.
The arts, like SOCIAL STUDIES, are about worlds and cultures beyond our personal experience.
The arts, like MATH, are about systematic divisions of time and space.
The arts, like LANGUAGE ARTS, are about creativity, communication, and interpretation.
The arts, like SPORTS, are about pushing to the limit for a singular achievement and working cooperatively to achieve a single goal.
The arts are also about PLAY, and play, too is essential to learning.
