About Me
Welcome to my website! My name is Lisa Sparks, and I teach Biology and Physics. I love teaching and helping students reach their full potential. I have worked with students for nearly 15 years as a classroom volunteer, Educational Assistant, and Teacher.
Last year, I became Cibola's science inclusion teacher, working in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics general education classes. I previously taught 6th-grade math at James Monroe Middle School and 6th-8th-grade science at LBJ Middle School as both a teacher and inclusion teacher. Recently, I became one of Cibola's cross-cat science teachers for Biology and Physics along with Ms. Jaramillo. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of New Mexico, an Alternative Teacher Licensure in Special Education from Central New Mexico College, and a New Mexico Public Education Department science endorsement. Education has been an essential part of my life, and I hope to impart that knowledge to your children as they work toward graduating high school.
What do I like to do outside of school?
Swimming
Walking my dogs and turtle.
Listening to music and going to concerts. My favorite band is Pearl Jam.
Watching the NFL. My favorite team is the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Collecting anything with Snoopy (since I was seven years old!).
Reading! My favorite genres are thrillers, horror, and non-fiction, especially science. My favorite authors are Stephen King, Nicholas Sparks, and Neil Degrasse Tyson.
I'm excited about another great year at Cibola and look forward to getting to know your child and family.
