About Me
Hello! My name is Lisa Sparks, and I will be teaching 9th-grade Biology and 10th-grade Chemistry this year. I love teaching and helping students reach their full potential. I have worked with students for over 15 years as a classroom volunteer, Educational Assistant, and Teacher.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of New Mexico, an Alternative Teacher Licensure in Special Education from Central New Mexico College, and a science endorsement from the New Mexico Public Education Department. Education has been an essential part of my life, and I hope to impart that knowledge to your children as they work toward graduating from high school.
What do I enjoy doing outside of school?
Swimming
Walking with my dogs, Doug and Pete.
Listening to music and going to concerts. My favorite band is Pearl Jam.
Watching the NFL. My favorite team is the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Collecting anything with Snoopy (since the age of 7!)
Reading! My favorite genres are dystopian, science fiction, horror, and nonfiction. My favorite authors are Stephen Graham Jones, Stephen King, Nicholas Sparks, Suzanne Collins, and Neil Degrasse Tyson.
I'm excited for another great year at Cibola and look forward to getting to know your child and family.
