OUR MISSION

The Counseling program at Arroyo del oOo Elementary is designed to assist all students through a comprehensive developmental guidance program, to develop each student's academic, career, personal, and social abilities. In partnership with teachers, administrators, students, parents, and the community, school counselors facilitate the support system to ensure all students have access to and are prepared with the knowledge and skills to contribute at the highest level as productive members of society.

Hello, my name is Adelita Otero. I am the counselor at Arroyo del Oso Elementary. I have been a school counselor for 23 years. I was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas and moved to Albuquerque, NM in 2006. I received my Bachelor's in Education from Bowie State University in Bowie, Maryland and taught 2nd and 3rd grade for 5 years in San Antonio ,Tx. I received my Master of Education in Counseling and Guidance from the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg, TX.
