Initial eligibility for National Junior Honor Society is determined by your cumulative GPA which must meet or exceed our chapter's standard for scholarship currently set at 3.0. If you have met this initial qualification, you can be proud of this personal accomplishment, which serves as the first step in our selection process.
If you have met the cumulative GPA standard of 3.0, you are now eligible to submit additional information for consideration by the chapter's faculty council, which will carefully review your credentials. In addition to the scholarship standard, membership in NJHS is also based on the standards of service, leadership, character, and citizenship. To be selected a member of NJHS, you must demonstrate on your candidate information form and through your references you have met these standards.
Please review this information and our chapter information with your parents/guardians. The deadline for submitting ALL completed forms is February 27th. You will completed a candidate packet that includes an online application, a parent signature, a faculty signature, and community reference signature to Mrs. Williams in Room 407. You will submit your candidate information form electronically. Please secure a faculty reference from a current or former teacher at Desert Ridge Middle School; they will directly submit their reference form and you will obtain their signature stating they completed the form. You can provide the link to the community reference form to an adult in your community that can attest to your character and citizenship and obtain their signature stating they have completed the reference.

Steps to apply:
1) Obtain a Candidate Packet from Mrs. Williams in Room 407 or the front desk.
2) Fill out the Candidate Information Form online***This form is to be filled out by the student***** (https://bit.ly/NJHS-2025)
3) Ask a teacher to fill out a Faculty Reference Form on your behalf. Obtain their signature after the reference has been completed.
4) Send the link to a community member to the Community Reference Form to fill out on your behalf. This reference may NOT be a familial reference. Obtain their signature after the reference has been completed.
5) Complete the paper Candidate Packet and turn it into Mrs. Williams in Room 407 by February 27th.
