About Me

I am happy to be teaching in the Gifted Education/SEEK Program at John Baker Elementary for the ninth year! This is my 33rd year teaching. My previous teaching experiences include teaching gifted education classes as well as 3rd-5th grade students in the general education setting. I have also taught reading intervention and English as a Second Language classes to grades K-5. Additionally, I have supervised student and beginning teachers and have taught several education courses at UNM.

I have a BS degree in Elementary Education with a Science minor and a MA degree in teaching with a Literacy concentration area, both from UNM. I have TESOL, Reading, and Gifted endorsements and am certified in early childhood, K-8, and as a Level III instructional leader.

I have two fabulous children (both of whom have been a part of gifted programs in APS). My daughter lives in New York City. My son is attending graduate school at New Mexico State University. I am married--to another elementary school teacher. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, hiking, running, learning, and teaching.
