Welcome to Cibola High School!
Social Studies is about understanding the world around us, and learning how to live effectively and successfully in that world. My classroom is a workplace, and we practice workplace behavior on a daily basis.
The fastest and easiest way to contact me is through email. Parents are welcome to join REMIND as well. Students need to bring their Chromebooks to every class period.
I look forward to working with you all!

A Brief Biography
I grew up in the frozen wastelands and mosquito hunting grounds of Wisconsin. Upon moving to Colorado during my twenties, I discovered that I was indeed solar-powered, and have not left the Southwest since then. This is my 24nd year in New Mexico. I have a BA in Slavic Linguistics/Political Science from Lawrence University (Appleton, WI), an MBA in Operations Management from UCCS (Colorado Springs) and an MAT in Secondary Education from Western NM University (Silver City, NM). Teaching is my third career after high-tech manufacturing and self-employment in project management/grant writing.
I've "been around the block" a few times. In fact, I'm so old, I invented "the block"! Early travels included summer school in Poland, 13 week camping trip through Eastern Europe (last century, during communist rule), and visits to London, Moscow, and New Zealand. I like the outdoors although at a leisurely pace these days. Current passions include running, weight lifting, keeping plants growing and feeding the birds.
This is my 16th year of teaching. I have endorsements in Social Studies, Health, Business, Modern/Classical Languages (Russian), TESOL and Gifted. I have high expectations for my students, and even higher expectations for myself. In my classroom, we practice kindness, integrity, and humor.
