In order for all of us to succeed and support our Online Community I have a few Classroom Expectations that need to be followed:
Digital Citizenship and Responsibility : Here are some links that will help you develop good Digital Citizenship :). https://youtu.be/vZdcRFiNxws, https://youtu.be/6ctd75a7_Yw, https://youtu.be/-N7lRYMmbXU

Maintain daily contact with teacher on Google Classroom or Google Meet and communicate with your parents about your day and schedule as well. Keep them in the loop!
Relax and Have Fun!!! Do not stress out! I am here to help
DO YOUR BEST ! That is all I ask :)
Hello parents and students,
Welcome to a new school year! First off I would like to say how happy I am to be your child's teacher. I will do my best to be there for them everyday, all day :)
We will start Edgenuity August 17th, so before that we will be doing activities via Google Classroom, SeeSaw and other resources.
Once we begin Edgneuity, I would like to emphasize the importance of pacing yourself when you are working on your Edgenuity courses. Please do not do all courses in one day! Instead, I would like for you to do two or three activities from each course each day. If you are not finished by 3 pm please do not make the decision to work all night. You need to be a kid and have "kid time" in your life! You also need plenty of rest and relaxation so you are ready for a new day.
Taking breaks is a big benefit for your studies as well. If your schedule does not fit our Week at a Glance schedule, it is STILL important to take several breaks during the day to rest your eyes and brain.
Go outside for some fresh air (if you are allowed) so that you come back to your assignments with renewed energy. And, lastly, take notes! Taking notes is a part of the educational and learning process. There is simply too much information to memorize, so taking notes will serve to support your learning. Please look on the Resources page of this site or Google Classroom for Note Taking tips.
Additional Expectations:
Please be reminded that if your child has more than one teacher, it is an expectation that they attend the other teacher's class in the designated time frame for that teacher. This includes Music, PE , Library and Art class. eCademy K8 wants to see students feel supported and be successful in their educational career, and it is important for everyone in a student's life (including the student) to understand the value and importance of reaching out to all adults who are working with the student. We all care about the education of each one of the students we serve, so, STUDENTS, please remember to touch base with your other teachers when you are scheduled to meet with them. Thank you!
ATTENDANCE EXPECTATIONS: This can be found in the Student Handbook, but for your convenience here is a snap shot of Attendance Expectations from the Handbook:
Attendance
Attendance will be logged daily in accordance with APS policy.
Synchronous
Synchronous attendance present: is defined as a student being present with CAMERA ON in all assigned google meet(s) for each day for 100% of each meet time until dismissed by the teacher. Synchronous class sessions and small group meetings are MANDATORY for ALL STUDENTS regardless of coursework pacing.

Attendance recording in Synergy
Attendance information will be recorded in ParentVue using synchronous and/or asynchronous data from the previous 24 hours. Ex: Monday attendance recorded on Tuesdays morning.
Cameras
We understand that there are times when it is not possible for students to have their cameras on. Students are encouraged to have their cameras on for the entirety of any and all synchronous meets (in order to be marked present). This helps your child’s teacher know if your child is engaged in their learning and understanding what is being taught. If your student is having difficulty with their camera please contact their teacher.
Internet
If your student is having difficulty accessing the internet due to an outage in the area, please communicate with your student's teacher.
