Classroom Information

Being taught by educators who pushed me to formulate and test my own ideas in real-world contexts and experiments, I have seen and experienced first hand the implications, which are associated with being pushed to think on your own. Coming from a background that focused more on the process of learning rather than on learning how to take a test, I see significant value in teaching my students through the process of learning. By going through the process of learning how to learn rather than how to memorize I was pushed to become a critical thinker, who has not only acquired knowledge, but has learned how to apply such knowledge. Thus, as a educator I do not teach simply to instill basic skills, rather I teach to push and encourage my students to question, experience, and analyze. I teach so that my students can develop into critical thinkers who are not only prepared with the content knowledge required, but are also prepared to think for themselves and challenge the thoughts and opinions of others.
