Montezuma has gained a lot of recognition from the eSports world in the last couple of years not only for being one of the few active Elementary teams in all of the southwest, but for being highly competitive.  Playing mostly Rocket League last year Montezuma eSports went undefeated in scrimmages against rivals North Star E.S. and Lavaland E.S.  This year Montezuma was invited to join the "Western Region Middle School eSports Conference".  Playing exclusively against middle school teams in the prospects league Montezuma finished 3rd in the Fall, and 2nd in the spring!  Our record put us in 3rd place in a division with 11middle schools, and qualified us for the playoffs.  In addition to our success we are constantly exploring other age appropriate games to compete in.  We will likely be competing soon in Super Smash Brothers, as well as Knockout City and are exploring options for competitive FIFA, MADDEN, and Minecraft.  Montezuma eSports meets every Tuesday and Thursday after school, and has tryouts every August for interested 4th and 5th graders.
