As an elementary PE teacher with a focus on outdoor learning, I believe that technology should enhance, rather than replace, the hands-on experiences that outdoor education offers. While I value the importance of physical activity and learning in natural environments, I also recognize that technology can be a valuable tool for fostering engagement, improving skill development, and tracking progress. For teaching, technology can provide interactive and visually stimulating resources to introduce new concepts, while also supporting students' understanding of movement patterns and physical fitness through apps or videos. In terms of assessment, I see technology as a way to monitor individual progress and provide immediate feedback through wearable devices or digital portfolios. Ultimately, technology should complement outdoor learning, making physical education more accessible, motivating, and reflective, while still prioritizing active, experiential learning in the natural world.
