Welcome! This year, we will get to know each other as we explore our health.  I'm excited to hear your questions about your health and our community/collective health, and to work together to answer them in creative, collaborative ways!

By the way, we'll be exploring three main themes together this year: Identity, Connection, and Empowerment!

Identity

Who are you? What does health mean to you and your family? What does your culture teach you about health? What about your peers?

How do you make decisions about your health?

Connection

How are we connected to each other, our community, and our world? What does health mean when we consider others?

How do you find community resources and advocate for community health?

Empowerment

How much control do you have over your health?  How much control do you have over your community's health?

What can you do to empower yourself, your peers, your family, and your community to choose health-enhancing behaviors?

About Ms. Ploss

Hello! I teach 7th grade health here at Jefferson, teaming with Bo Wade. I’ve spent my life thus far as a physical therapist, photographer, mother, researcher, and adventurer. I’m so excited to continue with this amazing community of Jets and learn with and from all of you!

Please reach out with anything you'd really like to learn or do while we are exploring our health this year together (that goes for adults and students).

¡Hola! Enseño salud en séptimo grado aquí en Jefferson, en equipo con Bo Wade. He pasado mi vida hasta ahora como fisioterapeuta, fotógrafa, madre, investigadora y aventurera. ¡Estoy muy emocionado de continuar con esta increíble comunidad de Jets y aprender con y de todos ustedes!
