Parents and students must follow the rules mandated by the APS athletics department. The link below (responsibilities) will take you to the code of conduct for both athletes and parents. The biggest issues that we ran into last year were parents not picking up students on time from practice, if this happens more than twice, the student will be dropped from the team. Another issue was, at away games, students were not being signed out by parents, again, if this happens more than twice, the student will be dropped from the team. Students cannot wait at an away game for a parent who is late to to pick them up; they will have to ride the bus back to GIS.
**Students, grade checks will be given once a week. If you don't meet the requirements of a 2.0 GPA, or have 1 F, you will have to sit-out a game, or be cut from the team., based on your coach's discretion. Also, in order to tryout for boys/girls basketball, you cannot have an F on you progress repot/report card depending on where the sport starts during the grading period.
