Welcome to my classroom! This year, I will teach Spanish 1 and 2. I look forward to exploring the many fun learning opportunities and activities with you that we have planned this school year. Together, we will develop a more extensive knowledge of the Spanish language and the Hispanic Culture. Spanish 1 and 2 classes, and advisory class have its own web pages containing specific information about classwork, projects, tests, events, and requirements of each course. You can find the link of each class at the top of this web page.
Remember, if you were absent during class, please, check the class agenda to see what you missed. Classwork, quizzes, tests, and projects will be posted on your Spanish Google Classroom. Please, check your grades weekly in your Student VUE account.
Safety protocol in our classroom: Students will find an exit route map and an emergency plan posted by the classroom door. Addionally, students and teachers constantly participate in emergency drills throughout the school year.
If you have any concerns regarding pedagogy, lessons, or material, please, feel free to contact me via email anytime at iveth.acuna@aps.edu If a student or parent feels especially uncomfortable with a culture activity , example "The day of the dead", I am definitely open to students demonstrating their learning through alternative assignment(s).

State Seal of Bilingualism - Biliteracy
" The APS bilingual seal program is unique because it begins with our youngest students, building on the assets they bring to the classroom. I mean, these children speak more than one language. How amazing is that!
The K-12 pathway focuses on the whole child, validating their culture, preserving and valuing their language. Our goal is to help these students become biliterate, meaning they not only speak two languages but they also read, write and think in both languages, making them more marketable and successful in the global workforce.
I am so proud of these students, so happy for their families and so grateful for their teachers and the support system that has helped them reach this goal.
Congratulations on your well-deserved success. I wish you Godspeed on a pathway brimming with promise, hope, and possibilities.
Felicidades por su muy merecido éxito. Les deseo a todos muy buena suerte, y que tengan un prometedor camino lleno de esperanzas y posibilidades. "
