Welcome Parents, Guardians and Students:

I would like to welcome you all to our 5^th grade classroom. This is my 4th year teaching 5^th grade at Bandelier. This will be my 7^th year teaching 5^th grade. My name is Amanda Gallegos. My background in teaching and running summer camps has kept me busy for the last 15 years. My husband Mike and I have two children, Morgenn who is 13 and in 8th grade and Emilee, who is 17 and is really wondering what her senior year is going to be like!.They are both former Banda Bears! Our family has been committed to being part of the Bandelier community for many years and I am excited to serve your student this year.

I will be working closely with our other 5^th grade teachers and staff, as well as parents to ensure your student experiences dynamic and meaningful learning this year. We will be building our community from day one with an emphasis on learning and serving locally while thinking diversely and globally. I will be sending out a questionnaire to every household which will allow me to get to know your student, their learning needs and preferences. I look forward to seeing everyone virtually and hopefully in person as we all hope that schools will be returning to buildings and classrooms soon. In the meantime,…the learning begins…
