The period between 793-1066 A.D. is commonly known as the "Viking Age". Vikings, also referred to as "Norsemen", descended from Scandinavia and performed wide-scale raiding, conquest, migration, and trade throughout the period. These actions had significant consequences for both the Vikings and peoples across multiple regions.

 This unit aims to examine the Viking Age from a cultural perspective. To this end, factors such as centralization of power, religious conversion, conflict, migration, and colonization will all be focal points throughout the unit.
