Fifth Year PsyD Student
Kelly joined the REACT lab in the Fall of 2020, after receiving her Master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from UNC Chapel Hill in the Spring of 2020. Kelly’s current research interests include integrated care and rural mental health services. Kelly has assisted with research regarding behavioral health consulting at Student Health Services at ASU. Kelly’s current research focuses on understanding demographic and psychological variables associated with intent to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
Third Year PsyD Student
Breanna graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in May 2022. She started the PsyD program during the Fall 2022 semester, with the ultimate goal of practicing as a clinical psychologist in a rural community by disseminating evidence-based interventions and working to improve access to care. Her research interests include suicidality, stigma, and the delivery and impact of evidence-based interventions to underserved/underrepresented populations. She is currently working on her thesis, which is evaluating the impact of a Mental Health First Aid training program on college students' self-stigma and help-seeking attitudes, whilst considering how personal suicide history might interact with intervention outcomes.
Second Year PsyD Student
Shelby joined the REACT lab in the Fall of 2023, after receiving her M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College that spring. Shelby's research interests include eating disorders, weight stigma, and disparities in related interventions. Shelby's current research focuses on the relationship between internalized weight stigma and disordered eating patterns in rural versus urban contexts.
First Year PsyD Student
Eric received his B.A. in Music and Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2019. From 2020 to 2024, he has worked in education, most recently as an academic advisor to the military and high school populations at Craven Community College. During that time, he worked as a mental health crisis counselor assessing suicidal ideation and goal setting. He also worked on publications in the field of forensic psychology and psychopathology. Eric is most interested in working with minority populations pertaining to substance use and social media's impact on cravings.
