Inspiration & Ideation
As the DigiFab team prepared for the Transformations Exhibit, the team partnered with Appalachian State's Department of Applied Design to design and configure the layout for the Transformations Exhibition. Collaborating to understand exhibit needs, the team worked to develop ideas for a successful exhibit. Starting with field measuring, an existing conditions plan and building information model (BIM) was created.

Process
In collaboration with Digifabbers, a program list of needs was developed in a Google Sheets document to identify dimensions and installation requirements by exhibit piece. Using trace paper and Sharpie's, quick schemes were developed to address exhibitor's needs for display. Using building information modeling tools, Autodesk Revit Architecture, refined schemes were prepared to layout the Turchin Center gallery for the Transformations Exhibition. Using building information modeling (BIM) tools to visualize and plan the future exhibition space, the team developed floor plan schemes, interior elevations, and perspective views to iterate exhibition options and finalize a plan for implementation. Individual exhibitor's provided digital models of their displays to be represented in the Digital Transformations Exhibit BIM model.
