Unit Overview
This website displays my work on formulating a five-lesson unit aimed at the post-secondary educational level. This is a World History unit aligned with Appalachian State University's 1000 level survey course standards. The unit and various lessons are also aligned with the American Historical Associations defined skills for historical proficiency. A massive influence in the formulation of this unit and these lessons was my goal of expanding the historical curriculum and showing non-history majors, or enthusiasts the value of learning history. This goal led to the theme of the unit being looking at 19th and 20th century warfare as the catalyst for some of the most important advancements in fields such as science, medicine, and industrialization. This theme I feel highlights that history has signficance in all fields of study, and learning such history is extremely valuable to understanding of why things are the way they are today.
