Here are the simple steps to register for the Summer Institute:

To Register to Receive Six (6) or Three (3) Graduate Credit Hours:

Step 1: If you are already an App State graduate student, sign up for ENG 5400 (6 hours) or ENG 5530 (3 hours) in Appalnet. If you are not already a student, register as a non-degree-seeking graduate student at Appalachian State University. This process is quick, and you should expect to hear back in about two weeks. Registration is available in Spring 2024.

Step 2: Once admitted to App State, go to your Appalnet account and sign up for ENG 5400-Appalachian Writing Project. This is a six-hour graduate course. Upon completion of the Summer Institute, you will receive six graduate hours! Or, you may opt to sign up for ENG 5530-Special Topics-Appalachian Writing Project for three graduate credit hours. Both courses will take place at the same time by the same instructors, except that ENG 5400 meets from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. M-F, and ENG 5530 meets from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. M-F. Requirements for the two courses will be slightly different to account for the extra three hours of credit.

To Register for Non-Credit (but you will still receive CEUs):

Visit the Appalachian State University Conference and Events site and click on the non-credit option when prompted. Register by clicking this link:  https://appstate.irisregistration.com/Form/24AMWP
