The AGE labs office and research space is located in University Hall. University Hall is part of the Institute for Health and Human Services, and is in a convenient location off of Blowing Rock Rd. (US 321) behind Staples. The street address is 400 University Hall Drive.
Free parking is available at the building for community members, faculty, staff, and students. The building is also serviced by the AppalCart. View more information about the Appalcart Routes in Town.
Our testing rooms are located in rooms 159 and 161 University Hall.
If you are coming to University Hall to participate in a research study, please park in the visitor's lot and enter through the front door. When you enter, take a seat in the chairs that are to your right, next to the stairs. We'll come to escort you to the appropriate testing room at your testing time. Please do not wander around the building, because there are several health clinics in operation there. You also do not need to "Check in" at the clinic window.
Keep in mind that the AGElabs office is staffed by students, and they may be traveling to University Hall from the main campus.
If you wait more than 10 minutes and the researcher does not arrive, please email AGELabs@appstate.edu to let us know.
Our office spaces are located on the second floor of University Hall.
If you have an appointment to talk to the AGE Labs director, please come straight to her office in room 220. You can enter the office through the reception area in room 221A.
If you are meeting one of our student researchers for something other than a research appointment, you can find them in rooms 221-222.
For currently enrolled students, faculty also have offices on campus in the Psychology building (Smith-Wright Hall). See the individual faculty member's pages for their office number.
In addition, some research with currently enrolled students takes place in the classrooms or labs in both Smith-Wright Hall and Edwin-Duncan. In particular, Dr. Ballard has lab space in Smith-Wright, and Dr. Brietenstein has lab space in East Hall. If you are a student who is signed up to be in a research study, please be sure to double-check where your appointment will be.
