Sobre mí / About Me

My name is Valerie Crosby and this is my ninth year as the sixth-grade Spanish immersion teacher at West Sylvan Middle School and my first year teaching French. I'm from Ketchikan, Alaska, and I have lived in Portland since 2011. I love the nature around Portland! Before, I lived in El Salvador and New Mexico, and I traveled a lot in Central America. I have two young cats, Simba and Aspen. When I have free time, I love to read (in English, Spanish, and French).

I have a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Oregon and a B.A. in Spanish from PSU. In 2018, I finished my Masters in Education at PSU. I study French with a few different teachers and have received a B2 on the DELF (Diplôme d'études en langue française or Diploma in French Language Studies).

Me llamo Valerie Crosby y este es mi noveno año como la maestra de Inmersión en español del sexto grado de West Sylvan y mi primer año enseñando francés. Soy de Ketchikan, Alaska y he vivido en Portland desde 2011. ¡Me encanta la naturaleza alrededor de Portland!  Antes, vivía en El Salvador y Nuevo México y he viajado mucho en Centroamérica. Tengo dos gatos, Simba y Aspen. Cuando tengo tiempo libre, me encanta leer (en inglés, español y francés). 

Soy Licenciada de la Literatura Inglesa de la Universidad de Oregón y también soy Licenciada de Español de la Universidad Estatal de Portland (PSU).  En 2018, terminé la Maestría en Educación en PSU.  Estudio francés con algunos profesores diferentes y obtuve un B2 en el DELF (Diplôme d'études en langue française o Diploma en Estudios de la Lengua Francesa).
