Watch this video to find out about the summer reading program at the library!
The Nutmeg Book Award encourages children in grades 2-12 to read quality literature and to choose their favorite from a list of ten nominated titles.
They have four divisions: Elementary (grades 2-3); Intermediate (grades 4-6); Middle School (grades 7-8); and High School (grades 9-12)
Jointly sponsored by the Connecticut Library Association (CLA) and the Connecticut Association of School Librarians (CASL), the Nutmeg Committee is comprised of children's librarians and school library media specialists who are members of those sponsoring organizations. Students and librarians vote from these lists.
During the month of July, complete this scavenger hunt by visiting various sites around West Haven. There will be lawn signs at each location that provide a clue. This year's clues are fads and trends from years past. Find at least 9 clues and return your clue sheet to the main branch or the Ora Mason branch by 8/2/2025 to be entered into a raffle for a prize. Find all 14 clues and receive 2 raffle chances! You can get a print copy at any library branch!
