Beautiful Birds Summer Scavenger Hunt

Search for clues at various locations in West Haven.

A picture of a unique bird will be placed on a lawn sign located at each site.

 

Starting June 21st: Pick up your clue sheet at the Main Library

(Circulation Desk or Graham Room) or Ora Mason Branch.

Clue sheet will also be available to download on our website. 

 

Return your completed clue sheet by 8/4/23.

Mini Terra Cotta Pot Herb Garden 

August 1-August 31

For this children's craft paint a mini terra pot with golden modge podge and gold glitter. Some seeds and dirt are included in starting to make your mini herb seed garden.

This mini terra cotta pot is a perfect addition to a fairy garden if you have one or plan on starting one.

Would you know what to do if you were attacked? Learn simple and practical techniques to defend yourself during this self-defense workshop lead by 6th degree black belt Adam Rylski, the chief instructor at the Assembly of Martial Arts Acadamy!

No prior experience is required. Dress in comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. 

This workshop is open to kids and teens entering 6th-12th grade.

Registration is REQUIRED and space is limited. If you are unable to attend, please call the library at least 24 hours in advance so we may accommodate people on the waiting list.


Pet Professions with the CT Humane Society

Do you love animals, and think you may be interested in a career in the animal welfare field? Join us for  a presentation by the Connecticut Humane Society on pet professions! This program offers students a look at the wide array of careers in the animal welfare field. Students will learn about the skills and education needed for different positions and hear about a typical work day from CHS staff. 

Open to tweens & teens in grades 6-12
