Our Mission: To close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.
Developed in 1980, AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a college readiness system designed to equip our 6th through 12th grade students with the tools to achieve their academic and career goals by increasing school-wide learning and performance. Once in the AVID class, students will find guidance over topics like college, scholarships, the workforce, skills, and study habits. Since then, our program has had a proven track record for challenging students in the "academic middle" and provide them with support to reach their college goals.
Our AVID strategies are implemented school-wide at elementary and secondary campuses. At the middle school and high school level, students can apply to enroll in the AVID Elective. Each AVID secondary campus has an application and interview process.
