Before coming to me, follow these steps:
First, check this website for assignments for the week and cross-reference them with the Table of Contents and what I posted in Google Classroom. Notes and homework are often found on the same Google Slides presentation.
Next, ask your classmates.
Lastly, ask me.
Sorry, but warm-ups can only be accepted if you were present to answer them on the day they were given. The bellwork for the day is only posted on the class website for the whole day that it was assigned.
To get the best information about how to fix your grade, follow these steps:
First, go into Student Connect and check to see if you have missing assignments.
Look at your test grades.
Look for any missing assignments or scores that have 0's on them.
See what areas you need to focus on or improve on.
Remember, you cannot makeup Achieve 3000 articles or Bellwork sheets.
Any missing or make-up work will be counted as late credit (but it's better than a zero).
*** If you're coming to me at the end of the quarter/semester asking me this question -- it's too late. Consider what you should have done and improve upon that for the next grading period or school year.
Before coming to me about this, check your assignment again --
1) Did you follow all directions on the assignment?
2) Did you complete every question and part of the assignment?
3) Were your answers complete?
4) Did you answer the questions correctly?
If you satisfied #1-4 above, then come and see me. It's entirely possible that it could have been a mistake.
Check the Announcements section for the class page and update your agenda.
You'll have to schedule an appointment with me. In the morning before school, or during lunch period are your best times to schedule. You can always come back and finish at another time if you don't complete it when you initially come in.
I do not accept 1-2 sentence answers on Achieve article thought questions. It needs to be at least a solid 5 sentence paragraph response.
If you know you completed your thought questions properly, know that sometimes Achieve 3000 doesn't behave well. Make sure that when you complete an achieve article, that you SUBMIT your work. You must have all sections INCLUDING the Thought Question completed. If you are sure you did this and can show me proof of it, I will change your score.
No, because you have the entire semester to complete them.
You can only get extra credit when I give you opportunities for extra credit.
Homework passes are only valid for homework assignments (5 points). You can use a homework pass TOWARD a lab or a project, but it will only count toward 5 points of that assignment. You cannot use the homework pass for tests and quizzes. NOTE: If I tell you that you can't use the pass on a particular homework assignment, it's because I know that it is important and you CANNOT use it for that assignment no matter what!
You can calculate this on your own. Go into Student Connect and find out the current TOTAL POINTS in this class. Your points / total class points x 100 = your percentage in the class. Usually you know how many points a test or assignment is worth (this information can usually be found in Google Classroom, or you know ahead of time how many questions are on a test). You can add how much the assignment/test is worth to the TOTAL CLASS POINTS. Then, take your score, and add it to YOUR POINTS in the class. Recalculate your percentage based on those two numbers using the equation above.
Otherwise, I can't tell you exactly what the percent in your class grade will be based on 1 assignment. You'll just have to do your best on it.
It'll be graded when it's graded.
(But I usually try to get it done within a week. Don't press me.)
Sometimes I curve tests and quizzes, but go in with the idea that I will not curve it. Sometimes I do not curve a test at all.
CP Class: Possibly, but only if you earned 50% or less on a test, and you come and speak with me first. If I allow it, you can only recover a maximum of a C- on that test.
Honors Class: No.
There are also no retakes on quizzes.
Biology Class: No.*
Chemistry Class: No.*
* However, your notes need to show evidence of organization otherwise points will be taken off.
