I still remember when I didn't understand something, you would always teach me patiently. You gave me knowledge. When I was in third grade, you handed out new books. At that time, the class was still chaotic, and when you thought we didn't want to study, you would do something fun to make us happy. You took us to make rice balls, build gingerbread houses, go on picnics, and more. During recess, when I was bored, I would go to chat with you. Your daily teachings have given me a lot of knowledge. Like the last time we made rice balls, we drank sweet syrup and ate hot rice balls. Whenever we had activities, I was excited and happy, and I still remember the process vividly!
Every time I made a mistake, you would gently say, "That's not right!" When classmates were laughing non-stop, you would always step in to help. Whenever there was an issue, you would come forward to handle it. I noticed every little thing you did to help us. When we had questions, you would listen to us seriously. You were so patient.
Thank you for being there. You are like a warm sun protecting everyone, and like a pump, cheering everyone on. Thank you, my teacher—Ji Xin-Ling

Second Place - 31106 Chen Yi-Sen: Thanks to You
Mom, thank you for being there. Thank you for teaching me many aspects of life, big and small. Thank you for helping me overcome the difficulties in life. Thank you for allowing me to grow up happily every day. Even though I am very naughty, you remain so gentle. When I get angry, you try hard to calm me down. When I face setbacks, you encourage me not to be discouraged, to keep going, and to continue to strive.
Dad, thank you for taking us out to play and exercise on weekends, for doing science experiments with me at home, and for telling many historical stories, making my life colorful.
I know that when you scold me, it’s because you want me to become better and not make the same mistakes again. I know that when you make me stand in the corner, it's because you want me to reflect on my actions and correct my mistakes. Although I am very mischievous, you both still talk to me kindly and treat me well. I will certainly become the person you hope I can be, and I will do my best.
Third Place - 30918 Li Yu-Rou: Thanks to You
Since I was little, my dad has taken care of me. I want to thank him for buying me clothes and many daily necessities. Not only that, but he has also taught me a lot of knowledge.
Sometimes, when I have a nightmare, he wakes up to comfort me, bringing me back from the dark world to my original dreamland. Occasionally, I don’t want to do my homework because I don’t know how, and at those times, he encourages me to get back to it.
I am very grateful to my dad because he always encourages and teaches me, enabling me to go to school and make friends.
Of course, I don’t just want to thank my dad; I also want to thank my teachers at school. I think my teacher is like a brave superhero. When there are insects like spiders in the classroom, she calmly takes a leaf and moves them outside so we won’t be scared.
When we make mistakes, she doesn’t scold us. Instead, she explains things to us and doesn’t blame us. However, when we are too naughty, she does get angry, but her punishments are never severe—sometimes it’s writing lines, standing for five minutes, or even no punishment at all. That’s why I love my teacher.
Even though we sometimes make them angry, they still smile at me every day, treating me very well. They even give me small gifts like cookies and drinks and play games with me. Sometimes we play hide-and-seek, and other times we play tag. Every time it’s different, and they sometimes listen to my suggestions for games as if I were the leader. I am very, very grateful for my dad and my teachers. Their smiles and kindness make me feel like the happiest and most joyful person when they play with me.

Because of my mom, I am very happy. Mom, you always care about me. For example, one morning when I was sick, you immediately took me to the doctor after breakfast. And every holiday, winter, and summer break, you always take me to Grandma's house in Changhua.
Mom, I've always wanted to say to you: "No matter what happens, I will always love you." You have done so much for me, and I should repay you. When I grow up, I want to take you to Japan because you often say, "I really want to go to Japan." If you ever have difficulties, I will help you.
One memory that stands out is from the summer before last when you took me to the Capoo House in Taichung. At that time, I thought you wouldn't let me buy anything, but you smiled at me and said, "You can buy whatever you want, I'm not very strict." You even said we could go every year. I was so happy then.
Having such a gentle mother like you, with a smile like the sun, makes me feel energetic every day. Thank you for taking care of me and being with me every day. Having such a wonderful mom like you makes me feel incredibly fortunate.

I have a flaw: I'm very picky about food.
My pickiness is quite extreme. Almost every time we have lunch, I'm still eating while other classmates are taking their nap. Sometimes, I'm still eating when everyone else has already woken up. I've always wanted to get rid of this bad habit but didn't know how.
Then one day, everything changed. My after-school teacher told me, "If you keep being picky about food, you won't grow tall." After hearing this, I nodded, and after that, I started to unknowingly eat a little faster. I was very happy because now, sometimes I eat quickly and sometimes slowly.
Thanks to my after-school teacher, I was able to eat faster. I want to thank my teacher for helping me overcome my pickiness about food.

I have changed a lot from the past to now. I used to be very afraid of being late for school. I would constantly urge my mom to move faster. Even though she would speed up, I was still scared of being late. When we left, my mom didn't realize how scared I was. I was so nervous that I almost got hit by a car. My mom said, "Why are you so tense? Aren't you afraid of being hit by a car?" I ignored her because I thought she didn't understand how I felt. I quickened my pace.
When I got to school, I still felt bad. I felt that my mom didn't care about me. Even though the first class was science, I was still unhappy. Suddenly, the teacher asked if I was okay, and I said, "I'm fine." I thought, "How does the teacher know I got scared by a car? It must have been my mom who told her." I suddenly felt sorry for being upset with my mom.
After school, I asked my mom if she had told the teacher about the incident with the car. She said, "Yes." I thanked her. My mom took me to my favorite noodle place. I think she wanted me to forget about being scared. After eating, she asked if I was still scared. I wasn't anymore.
Because of you, I no longer feel afraid. For example, I'm no longer afraid of being late, having nightmares, or bugs. So thank you for giving me the courage to face reality.

First Place - 40804 Lai Yan-Bo: Let's Compete!
"Beeeep!" At the sound of the whistle, the runners burst from the starting line, the spectators outside the track cheered like a flock of sparrows, all fiercely encouraging the runners. The competitors were neck and neck, equally matched, until they surged toward the finish line amid resounding cheers from the crowd...
Today was the annual sports day. My classmates and I were buzzing with excitement, discussing the day's events. The night before, I was so excited I couldn't sleep. Walking into the classroom, everyone was energetically chatting about various events: the opening ceremony, the relay race, the 60 and 100-meter dashes, and more. Among all these, I was most excited about the relay race because it was my first time participating in a school relay event.
After the teacher and classmates finished reminding us of important details, the sports day officially began! Time flew by, and soon it was just minutes before the relay race. We were all nervous and excited, putting on our jerseys and getting ready at the starting line. My heart was pounding rapidly. When the starting gun fired, the runners sprinted down the track as fast as they could. One moment our class was in the lead, the next moment another class pulled ahead. The chaos made it hard to tell whose turn it was. When it was finally my turn, I felt extremely nervous. As soon as I grabbed the baton, I dashed off. My classmates kept shouting, "Go! Go!" I ignored the noise and focused solely on the finish line, stretching my left leg with all my might!
Although our class didn't come in first, we secured third place. Looking back, I regret not participating in fourth grade because I had injured my left leg and couldn't compete. However, it was still worthwhile because I got to observe my classmates' techniques closely. I hope this will help in future competitions.
Second Place: 40424 Wu Xinyong - Let's Compete!
In third grade, when we heard that we were going to compete in the relay race at the sports day, the whole class cheered. Even the usually quiet number 10 joined in the laughter, which made me realize how important this race was.
During PE class, the teacher said we needed to decide the running order. Initially, I wondered whether I would be the first or second runner, but the teacher assigned me to the 7th position. It wasn't the first runner, who had to sprint right from the start, nor the crucial 18th position that could determine victory. This answer disappointed me greatly. However, I also knew that the relay race wasn't about individual performance but about the team's effort, so I didn't mind being placed in the 7th position.
Soon, the teacher started teaching us how to pass and receive the baton, and we gradually mastered the technique. However, during a practice race against another class, something happened that upset me. The 14th runner accidentally dropped the baton, and the substitutes started blaming him for our loss. But everyone makes mistakes!
As we practiced more, our skills improved. Finally, the sports day arrived! Before the race, we were all nervous. Some people tied their shoelaces like crazy, while others kept going to the bathroom. I just stood there, imagining the relay race. When the starting gun fired, the first runner dashed forward. Initially, our class was in 4th place, but thanks to the efforts of the runners ahead, we moved up to 2nd place. When it was my turn, my classmates gave me looks that said, "It's all up to you!" This added some pressure, but I knew that the position was just a number. We all had to work hard to win first place!
When I saw the runner behind me approaching, I stretched out my hand, started running, and grabbed the baton. I began to sprint, imagining a big tiger chasing me from behind and a pile of gold in front of me. To my surprise, I overtook the first-place runner!
Although we were eventually surpassed by Class 2 and ended up in second place, I realized that as long as we put in the effort, good results would come.
Third Place: 40520 Zhang Yuen - Let's Compete!
I remember the first language competition in third grade, which included many contests: Mandarin pronunciation and characters, essay writing, Mandarin reading, Mandarin speech, and more. There were so many competitions, and I hesitated about whether to participate. If I did, which event should I choose? I also worried if the topics would be too difficult. I was very anxious and pondered for a long time.
I recalled something our teacher once told us. The teacher often said, "Don't be complacent if you win a competition, and don't be discouraged if you lose. The purpose of competitions is not to feel happy or sad, but to gain life experiences. The more competitions you participate in, the richer your experience will be, and you might improve step by step." So, I chose Mandarin pronunciation and characters, and essay writing.
Later, the teacher gave practice materials to those competing in pronunciation and characters. When I saw them, they seemed very difficult, but after a long time of practice, I became more familiar with those characters. However, on the day of the competition, I was probably too nervous and forgot many characters, so I didn't win. The more nerve-wracking part was in the afternoon when I had the essay competition. I also practiced for a long time to prepare for this.
When the competition time arrived, I opened the topic and couldn't think of what to write. I only remembered the teacher saying that if you can't think of something for an essay, you can make it up, but it has to be reasonable. Relying on this advice, I successfully completed my essay. On the day the results were announced, I learned that I had won. Unlike before, my heart wasn't racing, and I didn't have trouble sleeping the whole night. I felt much more relaxed.
Although these two competitions weren't about being happy or sad, I felt a bit sad for not winning in the pronunciation and characters contest, and a bit happy for winning in the essay contest. If you don't perform well, there's no need to be upset because it means there is still room for improvement.
Fourth Place: 40614 Gan Tingyu - Let's Compete!
I remember in third grade, we lost the relay race, so we were determined to place in the top three in fourth grade.
With the experience from last time and the teacher's review, we practiced more diligently. We would borrow batons from the PE teacher during breaks, which helped build our competitiveness. With everyone's hard work, our baton passing became smoother, and we overcame the habit of easily falling.
Next, we started practicing running. We included those who were slower to run with us. We first identified the mistakes in their posture and corrected them, then taught them some running tips: take bigger steps, swing your arms up to eye level, and so on. We hoped these tips would help them.
After that, it was up to them to practice on their own. One time, while walking on the track, I saw them practicing relay running by themselves. It made me happy to see they were taking it seriously, and I hoped they would maintain this attitude.
Finally, the day of the competition arrived. Everyone was full of hope, waiting for the race to start. The sun was shining brightly, and we were sweating just sitting on the field. After the first group finished, it was our turn. I put on my pink sports outfit as I was the first runner. Time's up! At the end, everyone eagerly awaited the results.
A few days later, the teacher announced that we got second place. Everyone was very happy. This competition left a deep impression on me, and I hope to achieve even better results next time.
Fifth Place: 40817 Luo Xuan - Let's Compete!
Competitions are generally meant to determine winners and losers, but I have a different perspective. To me, competitions are meant to test your courage and willpower. When we compete, we often have a strong desire to win first place. But where does this feeling come from? Of course, it comes from your self-esteem!
In third grade, I was completely different from who I am now. Back then, I was single-mindedly focused on winning first place. I was very greedy, always believing that winning was everything. However, one day during a relay race, I underwent a complete transformation. From what I understood, relay races test teamwork and confidence. At that time, I was solely focused on winning first place, but during the race, I realized something important: it's not just about winning, but about experiencing the joy and sense of achievement that comes with competing. Even though we lost the race and I was a bit disappointed, we didn't feel sad or discouraged. Instead, we worked even harder, discussing the lineup and tactics for the next race. For us, every small step forward was a significant effort.
Competitions changed my character and my attitude towards them. It was unexpected how much I changed! Throughout history, people have created "competitions" to distinguish different abilities. Whether in politics, education, video games, and more, competitions are everywhere. Competitions are closely linked to human life; no matter where you go, you will encounter things related to competitions.
I want to invite you to compete. Let's have a fun competition together!

Family members are the most cherished people for everyone, regardless of gender or age. Family is the most important part of life. No matter when, if you turn around, you'll find them always being there for you, ready to give you a hand and bring you warmth, making you feel touched by the bond of family. When you are happy, they share in your joy; when you are sad or helpless, they listen to everything you say and gently guide you in the right direction. The sacrifices family makes for us are countless, and we should be sensitive to all the changes around us and repay them with the sincerest attitude. Even a simple "I love you" or "Thank you" can convey your gratitude, making the family bond even closer and warmer!
I am an ordinary elementary school student, but my life is anything but ordinary because of my family. Every member of my family is a treasure to me. Not only do I love them, but they also love me dearly! If you are in the same situation, then I can only tell you that you are as "lucky" as I am. Since my birth, my life has been filled with love from my parents, grandparents, uncles, and aunts. After mentioning "love" so many times, what exactly is love? To me, love is something warm. Love is everywhere, invisible and intangible like air, yet as beautiful as fireworks and as warm as a fire. Like fire, love does not just warm our hands or bodies but also our hearts. Love always surrounds me, bringing immense warmth and sometimes overwhelming me with emotions, making me feel like crying. These indescribable feelings are deeply buried in my heart, and I hope that one day I can express these long-hidden words and achieve my dream of challenging myself.
In October two years ago, my parents, with serious expressions, slowly said, "Come over here." At that moment, I didn't think much and obediently sat down, waiting for them to speak again. "We are getting a divorce." This short sentence carried significant weight, signaling the end of their marriage. Seeing their gentle expressions and trembling hands, revealing their nervousness and sadness, I understood they were serious. So, I responded, "…Alright, if you've decided, then let it be." My parents were first filled with surprise, then smiled with relief, their eyes saying how much they were moved. My mom couldn't keep her smile and started crying slowly. I couldn't help but say, "Why are you the one crying first?"…
Even today, I occasionally go out with my parents to have fun and enjoy good food. Although the atmosphere is completely different from before, I still feel very happy. Whether it's my parents' willingness to go out together again or the love given by family members, it deeply moves me! In the future, I will definitely make them very proud and be a good child! I hope that one day in the future, I can also become someone who brings happiness to others!

There are many moments that move us in life, and this time, I want to share the moving experience I had when I saw children with Down syndrome selling handmade cookies in the Xinyi District with my mom.
Why do I want to share about children with Down syndrome selling handmade cookies? Because I know that doing things is already ten times harder for them than for the average person, let alone making handmade cookies! I have also made handmade cookies before, and besides the difficult steps, there are many ingredients to prepare, and you have to be familiar with every action, which requires long-term practice—something not everyone can do. My mom and I, without hesitation, took out our wallets and bought five packs at once. It wasn't because we were greedy, but because we wanted to help those who need assistance, hoping that more people would be moved by the effort these children put into their work.
This topic also reminds me of a previous experience accompanying my grandmother to the Bureau of Labor Insurance to handle some matters. There, I saw some physically challenged individuals selling drinks. I thought to myself: I remember my teacher saying that employees at drink shops need to carry a lot of supplies and have enough patience to listen to customers' needs. Seeing this, I felt not only admiration but also a sense of being moved. My grandmother immediately walked to the counter to order, and these physically challenged individuals thanked us. I believe that placing the drink shop at the Bureau of Labor Insurance was intended to help us understand and be moved by their dedication and hard work.
There are many moments that move us, and I chose to share these two experiences because they differ from some homeless individuals who beg bitterly on the streets. These people do not give up on themselves due to their physical disabilities but instead use their work to show us their dedication and effort. They seek nothing more than to let us know about their hard work and dedication. I hope that more people will be aware of them and encourage them with their actions, thus being moved!

That day, I saw some students running out of the school when school ended, so the volunteers and teachers reminded them not to run. I thought they wouldn’t listen, but surprisingly, they obediently followed the instructions and walked slowly out of the school gate. It turns out that a small reminder can change others' thoughts and behaviors, preventing accidents from happening.
The crossing guards and volunteers come to the school gate every morning and afternoon to ensure that students can cross the road safely. This job seems simple and easy, but in reality, it is not. However, seeing students safely reach their after-school care, talent classes, or homes, I believe the teachers and volunteers must feel a sense of accomplishment and be moved, knowing that their efforts are worthwhile!
This reminds me of cleaning the classroom in kindergarten. When the teacher gave the order, the whole class started cleaning. I saw the teacher sometimes teaching students how to clean the cabinets, other times checking if they were cleaning seriously—it was undoubtedly very tiring. But because of the teacher’s dedicated guidance, the classroom became as clean and tidy as new. I am still very grateful to that teacher because, thanks to her guidance, the younger students now have such a clean space to study in, which is truly moving!
Life is full of moments that move us. By carefully observing the people, events, and things around you, and by sincerely feeling and understanding these efforts, you can experience this feeling. I believe that no matter your profession, identity, or who you are, you can appreciate the "ubiquitous moves" in this world.
