Reading over the summer is very important to keep your reading skills strong and avoid the summer slide! This page has information on a number of wonderful reading opportunities for you over the summer months. Sign up for one or several and have a wonderful, adventurous summer reading great stories! *Remember to visit the eBooks and Audiobooks page for fantastic online reading resources.
Choose ONE of the attached challenge Bingo cards and complete a Bingo (5 in any direction) or a Blackout (for a bonus prize)! Have a parent sign-off that you completed it and bring the sheet back to Mrs. Chmiel the first week of school to choose a prize from the “Prize Box”!

This summer, as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s founding, we are excited to invite all children to join in the Second Lady’s 2026 Summer Reading Challenge. Participants will read and track 12 books of their choice between June 1 and September 4. Every book counts! When you finish your 12 books and submit your tracking form, you will be sent a personalized certificate, an America 250th anniversary-themed bookmark, and a special link to receive a prize! You will also be entered for a chance to visit the nation’s capital and the White House with a chaperone!

Seattle Arts & Lectures is partnering with Seattle Public Libraries to celebrate summer reading with a Kids and Adults Reading Summer Bingo activity. Click the link above to read more about it and download your Bingo board!
Track your reading for June, July and August in a digital dashboard and when you’ve met your monthly reading goal, you will receive a free Personal Pan Pizza from Pizza Hut! Fun activities and book recommendations each week also keep the fun going throughout the summer!
Pick up a reading challenge passport at any Third Place Books location. Once you've read 8 books, return your passport anytime between June 15th and September 7th to receive some fun freebies plus a chance to win a Third Place gift card!
