From help with textbook check out, to rolling Chromebook carts from room to room, the BHS Library Research Assistants are here to help.
Email Ms Urrutia (currutia@nsd.org) or call 7012 with a period and date that you need help, and we'll send an available helper as soon as we can.
1st period:
Bella
Bella, a sophomore at BHS, is the varsity goalkeeper for the Cougar soccer team. She recently moved from Dallas, Texas and also plays soccer for the competitive Crossfire Club. She is fluent in Spanish and enjoys helping Ms. U process new books in the library.
2nd period:
Mia and Jane
Jane , a senior at BHS, speaks Mandarin and French. She is also in 3rd year Calculus at Cascadia. She enjoys playing piano and helping students find new books to read.
Mia is a sophomore on the varsity cheer team. She is very adept at tolerating bad Dad Jokes. She loves to organize things, and enjoys giving school tours to new students.
3rd period
Elise and Krystal
Elise, an avid reader, is a senior at BHS. She loves chatting about her favorite books with students, and convincing them to check them out. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her family and Jim, her dog.
Krystal is a wonderfully kind student who is always willing to help out in the library or when other tasks come our way. She is fluent in Spanish, and is happy to help translate for students who are in the ELL program.
4th period:
Anna and Katie
Anna, self-admitted chatterbox, is passionate about theater and choir. As a junior, she knows BHS well, and enjoys sharing her knowledge with students looking for books and answers.
Katie, a senior, is involved with ASB and is very busy with numerous babysitting jobs after school. She loves dogs, especially Hudson our library therapy dog. Katie relishes vacuuming and helping teachers with textbook checkout.
5th period:
Bryanna and Jonathan
Bryanna, a senior, is extremely well-organized, and is blessed with an exceedingly strong work ethic. She immediately completes her library tasks with a smile. Her favorite library job is running errands for the librarians and office staff.
Jonathan is a freshman who enjoys fixing things. In fact, he has taken on the task of updating the infamous Levi Gettleman's bookmark project for our new staff. He has HUGE shoes to fill, both literally and figuratively.
6th period:
Max and Zo Zo
Max Van Pelt, who has the coolest name in the library, provides much needed height to our library team, as well as a daily reminder of the decorum we should all maintain at school.
Zo Zo, a voracious reader, came to us already trained as an RA by the notorious Holly Delight Herbison. If you come to the library and can't find anyone to help you, look behind a book for the cat ears, and you'll find Zo Zo eager to help out.
7th period:
Hannah and Ayzlyn
Hannah is not only a cheerful and insightful library RA, but she is a dangerous Cougar on the soccer pitch. Hannah makes all library patrons feel welcome with her bright smiing face.
Ayzlyn ties with Max Van Pelt for coolest name in the library. I have been impressed with her strong work ethic and attention to detail when completing library jobs both large and small. She is only a freshman, so we have not even scratched the surface of her potential here at BHS.
