Skyview Middle School Honor Society recognizes students with exemplary academic achievement, citizenship, leadership, and community involvement.
In addition to meeting all of the core requirements, students must apply each school year in order to be considered for annual membership/recognition. The application submission window begins after first semester report cards are published and ends April 1st.
Students accepted into Honor Society will be invited via acceptance letter to a formal induction ceremony in May of each school year.
**Students must reapply to Honor Society EVERY YEAR. Just because you got in one year, does mean you automatically get in the following year.
ASB Dues: $30 Annual ASB Fee. Pay online here or in the main office.
GPA: 3.5 Cumulative GPA or higher after the first semester of the current school year. Cumulative GPA means all semesters at Skyview. Check StudentVUE for your cumulative GPA. For example, 7th and 8th grade students need to average their GPA’s from ALL semesters attended at Skyview. 6th graders will use their first semester GPA. Cumulative GPA’s can be found on the semester report card.
*Cumulative GPA’s can be found on your semester report card, which is viewable under “Report Card” on StudentVUE. Click "Report Card" > click blue banner at the top: "Click here to view report card for Semester 1 Final Mark" > Find Cumulative GPA at the bottom right of your Report Card. Please check with the registrar, Kris Staten, if you have any questions about your GPA.
Personal Narrative: 250-750 Words.
Volunteer Hours: 10+ Hours of documented Community Service from June 1 - March 31. Community Service Hours are those which are done for others, for which no compensation (monetary or otherwise) has been given.
Exemplary Citizenship: No after school detentions, Saturday schools, or suspensions. *Appeals for after school detentions ONLY will be made on a case-by-case basis with the administration. Written letters of appeal must be submitted by the last Friday in February. See Ms. Scott in the counseling office or Ms. Subcleff in F119 for more information. It is important to note that just because you submit an appeal, it does not automatically mean you will get into Honor Society.
Virtually verified application by student and parent/guardian.
Application turned in by 3:00 PM, April 1st online. NO INCOMPLETE OR LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. NO EXCEPTIONS.
