A final photo session for posed senior portraits will be held on campus during school October 17, 2025.
We do not allow students to submit their own photos (either personally taken or from other photographers) for the portraits section of Scandia. We want all students to be included in the portraits section of Scandia. By standardizing the photograph we can better insure that everyone is included.
Our intent is not to discourage families from using their choice of private photo studios for senior photos, but for the purpose of senior yearbook portraits we use Dorian Studio only (free of cost to families). This method of working with Dorian to take senior yearbook-specific photos is the same method we have used for over a decade.
Having this one free photo for seniors levels the playing field by giving each student a professional photo-studio quality photo; there is no social stigma that students feel based on the type of photo they can afford being printed in the yearbook. If students want to have photos from other studios included in Scandia, they are welcome to use those photos in the Senior Ads section. Purchasing a senior ad is voluntary.
In June, Dorian will send students the schedules and times for senior portraits at Bothell Landing park July 8, 9 and 10. Students who will be unavailable on those days will be able to contact Dorian directly to reschedule their photo session for another day this summer.
