Hello Cheetahs! I am so excited to be your school counselor this year. What is a school counselor? A school counselor is like another teacher who helps all the students to feel safe and welcome at school and helps them to do their best.
One of my favorite parts of being a school counselor is that I get to work with ALL the students. I can't wait to see all of you and to meet our new students. Looking forward to a fabulous new school year together!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Weber
Welcome to my elementary counselor website!
I have been working in elementary education since 1998, both as a teacher and school counselor. This is my 8th year working in Northshore School District, but I have been a Northshore parent for 15 years. My own kids are 20, 17, and 10 and my husband and I have lived in Kenmore for 24 years. I am a Seattle native and enjoy exploring the great PNW.
A school counselor cares about kids and wants to help them succeed in school. My goal is to help ALL students make progress in both social and academic areas.

Here are some of the ways I work with the students:
-Whole class social & emotional skills lessons: Support teachers in implementing social skills curriculum as well as provide supplementary lessons appropriate for each grade level. This is a way for me to become visible to all students.
-Recess support: Help students with social skills and problem solving on the playground.
-Small groups: Meet with small groups for games and activities around friendship, cooperation, social skills, conflict resolution, etc. These groups often take place at lunch or at a time agreeable to the teachers.
-Individual check ins: As needed check ins for supporting social and/or academic goals.
-School support: Provide support for school wide programming and services.
My role is not meant to be a substitute for therapy that students receive outside of school, but I am able to be a connection between an outside therapist and the school team.
Please let me know if you have any questions about the counseling program.
