I grew up in the Northshore School District and love that I get to teach and raise my children in the same district. I have taught for over 20 years, teaching 1st, 2nd, and 4th grade.
I've been married for 21 years and have three children. We have two daughters and one son. All three of our kids are in high school. I love animals, especially dogs. We have a papillion/jack russell mix and a miniature dachshund (born on my favorite holiday, Valentine's Day).
I love traveling all over the world but so far my favorite places I've been are Mexico, New York, Hawaii, the Caribbean, Canada, California, and Texas. I've enjoyed climbing the Dunn River Falls in the Caribbean, climbing up to the crown of The Statue of Liberty, snorkeling in Mexico & Hawaii, and kayaking in Canada.
It has been an honor to keep in touch with past students and even attend some graduations, weddings, and baby showers. I've even had the privilege of having one of my past students come back and do some of their student teaching with me.

Math :
Students will get one sheet of math homework almost every night. I try to give time in class to at least get their homework started. I normally only assign the odd or even problems, plus stretch your thinking. I encourage everyone to practice math facts at home.
Reading:
Read 400 minutes a month, which works out to about 20 minutes a night (M-F). Documenting starts in Oct.
Spelling/Words Their Way (WTW):
If your child misses 2 or more words on their leveled pattern lists on a regular basis, then they will get a page with homework options. They must complete 3 of the activities.
