Welcome to Mrs. Larson's 5th Grade Class!
I'm so happy to be your teacher! I love 5th grade, it's the best by far. In fact, this will be my 14th year teaching 5th grade.
I grew up here in the Pacific Northwest in the wet forests of the Olympic Peninsula. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Washington in Bothell where I also subsequently earned my teaching certification. Go Huskies! When I'm not busy teaching, I can be found reading, playing music, gardening, sewing, or creating art.
My husband and I have two daughters. The oldest graduated Western Washington University and the youngest graduated from Syracuse University in New York and both are now working as full-sized adults!
I am a gardener, an artist, and a musician. I encourage all of my students to try new things and find their own passions and talents. I believe every kid deserves an advocate and that everyone has their own unique talents and magic to offer the world; my goal is to help you find and cultivate yours!
My favorite subjects to teach are math, art, reading, and social studies...well, I just guess I love them all! I can't wait to share my love of learning with you!Â
