About your Teacher

Welcome to first grade! I am looking forward to a great year. I have been teaching first grade in the Northshore School District since 2013. I absolutely love teaching first grade and enjoy seeing the huge amount of growth the students will make this year.

Here is a little about me...

I was born in Alaska and moved to Bothell when I was in 5th grade. I graduated from Bothell High School, and received my BA in History from Western Washington University. I earned my teaching credential from UW Bothell. My husband and I enjoy keeping busy raising our son, Logan (13), and daughter, Meadow (18). We also have two dogs, Duke and Buddy. In my free time I enjoy boating, being active outside, traveling, and reading.

It is my goal to create a classroom community of students who love learning, feel comfortable making mistakes, and take pride in their accomplishments. In my classroom, I like to nurture the whole child by engaging and challenging them in their academic learning as well as teaching them thinking strategies and social emotional habits that can set them up for a successful future in school and beyond.

We're going to have a great year, and I look forward to sharing my love of learning with your child!
